Baby Einstein

The past month or so I've been letting Addie watch a couple of Baby Einstein movies. I can't believe how entertained she is by them! I should have let her watch them 6 months ago like normal people do I guess. I didn't want her watching much tv till she was one. (Pretty sure she's caught her share of "The Office" though...sooo much better)

I'm pretty impressed that she does seem to be learning from them. She's been watching Baby DaVinci and it teaches eyes, mouth, nose, ears, hands and feet. She all of a sudden can point to most of these things on herself- it is very cute I must say.....so here's my dazed child being entertained :)

This is the most still you'll ever see this kid. It doesn't last long though....usually within a few minutes she gets off her chair and moves around while she watches. (which is more than I can say for myself when I'm watching my shows)
She does interact while watching...hence the clapping while it talks about hands. She also randomly yells at the tv "De!" when the puppets come on. She laughs and "talks" to the animals and puppets. It is so fun to watch her learn and play!

What we've been up to...

Sorry, it's been a little while....Here's what we've been up to since Addie's birthday- other than the walking :)

First of all, Cassi, I'm saying you and Maddux jinxed me ;) because ever since your post about him not sleeping well, Addie isn't either. Not sure what the deal is, but it's been a rough week. As I'm writing this, my poor kid is so tired, but I didn't let her nap cause it got too late for one. I'm trying to see if she'll go to bed earlier and hopefully sleep better- that's what the experts all say, so we'll see!

We went to an open house to honor and celebrate my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary. Wow- 65 years! What an amazing milestone! We love you grandma and grandpa and we are grateful to have you in our lives.

The Workman Crew (sans Jed- he was at CES and missed out)

Addie outgrew her carseat, so she got an upgrade last week! She must like it- she sleeps just fine in it :) What a big girl! New seat, taking steps, and drinking whole milk- so many new adventures when you're a one year old.

Walking Baby!

Addie starting taking steps this past week or so and I haven't been able to get any good footage of it. I was going to wait to post a video till I had one of her doing the 6-7 steps that she can, but oh well...a few is good for now! Sorry it's kind of blurry- look at our baby being a big girl!

Hearts, arteries, and prayers

Just thought that I would give a brief update on the past few days events. Danny, my stepdad, was having chest pains on Saturday while loading up their snowmobiles and so my mom took him to the hospital to check things out.

They decided to keep him overnight to run a few tests. Sunday they did a stress test and didn't find much, but the doctor felt that they should an angiogram Monday morning just to be on the safe side. So the plan was to do an angiogram and if they found any blockages, they'd just fix them with angioplasty at the same time. We figured that they'd find something, fix it and he'd be on his way by last night.

Well.....things don't always go according to plan. The doctor came out from the angiogram and told my mom that things didn't look good. He said that Danny had 4 arteries that had blockages and would need a quad bypass surgery!! What?! That wasn't what he signed up for! We're so very grateful that they did the angiogram and found those blocks though, because otherwise Danny wouldn't have known until it was too late.

So around 3pm yesterday, they wheeled Danny off to do full blown open heart surgery. We were all very scared and emotional but we knew that lots of prayers were being said on his behalf and that gave me peace. The surgeon came out around 7:30 and said that the surgery went well and they were able to successfully bypass the "bad" arteries. He'll still have a long road of recovery ahead of him, but he's blessed with lots of supportive friends and family to help.

Thanks so much to everyone who offered us words of comfort, support and love. Also, we know so many of you were praying for him and I know that it got him through the surgery. We're so blessed to have such a great support system!

A year ago today....

I was terrified, petrified and any other frightened word you can think of. I went into the hospital at 6:30am to have a C-section so that my stubborn baby could be brought into the world :) We were very excited that she was finally going to be out of my tummy and in our arms.
About an hour after arriving with those emotions...I was holding my new beautiful baby girl in awe and disbelief that it felt so long to get her here, and then she was suddenly here so fast! At 7:48 Addison Dawn Weller came into the world weighing 6 lbs 9 oz and was 19 inches long. I instantly fell in love with this sweet baby girl who looked a lot like her daddy, who I also love with all my heart. It amazes me still how much Addie has changed our lives. She's brought us more joy and love than we ever imagined.... take one look at this picture and you'll begin to understand why....

So this was a year ago...and here's our little girl today-

Here's the birthday girl- WOW what a difference a year makes! She's crawling, walking along furniture, briefly standing, into everything, loves to giggle, talks in gibberish, points at everything, growls randomly, climbs stairs, and best of all- still cuddles with mommy and daddy at night to fall asleep! We couldn't love you any more Addie and we thank our Father in Heaven every day that He sent you to us. Happy Birthday little sweetie!

Addie's first Birthday party!

So, I can't believe that I'm actually posting birthday pictures of my baby, but I am!! Technically she's not one until Thursday....I'm holding on to her being under a year till then. Here are a few pictures from our fun little party- thanks everyone who came! Addie loved the presents and seeing you all :)
Yep, that would be a tutu on my daughter. I'm sure you're not surprised- SO cute! I loved it. Thanks Cid for making them for the little girlies this Christmas. It was a perfect party outfit :)

Can't have a birthday without cake....I decided to make two actually. A butterfly cake, and then a little teddy bear cake for Addie to have to herself. The bear didnt' turn out as cute as I'd hoped, ah well.

Addie didn't seem to understand what to do with the cake in front her. Once mom gave her a taste, she was liking it though. She just put little bites in her mouth though...what a dainty little girl hee hee....I totally thought she'd grab that thing and it would be everywhere (hence the shirtless baby)
