Jed's 30th Birthday Extravaganza!

For Jed's 30th Birthday (aka Jed love fest) we had quite the weekend of partying!
We went to Cowabunga Bay Water Park on Saturday- it was so. much. fun. I haven't been to a water park since oh uh high school? This one was a great family friendly place to go. Addie LOVED the lazy river and kiddie pool area and even went down the smaller "Addie-sized" slide a few times. Oh, and don't be jealous of our awesome farmer tan lines in the pictures....

Where's Blake???

totally wish I looked that cute in a swimming suit sun bathing :)

Awaiting the bucket dump

Ahhhh!
splassssh!! that water was cold!

Once we were all dry we drove over to In-N-Out to get some lunch. We found a sweet spot on the lawn next to Sweet Tooth Fair (and yes, my mom ended up getting Jed some birthday treats to take home)
Jed and his birthday burger...mmm. He always claims food tastes better when you're barefoot. I would like to add that it always tastes better outside sitting on the grass too.
What birthday party is complete without themed cupcakes?? I made these the day before....luckily took a couple of pictures before they were decimated by the heat and transportation. They didn't come out as cute as I'd hoped. I'd definitely do this theme as a cake not cupcakes if I did them again. The twinkie sharks were pretty top heavy. oh and small sidenote- the black wilton food coloring? a little goes a looong way. hence my very dark sharks rather than light grey.
Um, that's pretty much the only way he could eat the shark cupcake....they got a titch warm and got a little tricky to get out of my cupcake carrier....I was worried about that. Ah well, didn't stop him.

Birthday kisses for daddy

It was the perfect way to end our day of fun in the sun!

We had some family over on Sunday, Jed's actual birthday, for some cake. Not everyone was down with the water park....you know, especially his grandparents. Plus, really, don't you think he needed 2 parties? I sure do.
Those plates and napkins matched the invites I sent out to the water park party. Totally age appropriate.
That's a lot of candles my friend....

Happy Birthday Jed! Addie and I are SO grateful and lucky to have you in our lives. You're the bestest daddy and husband! We love you!

It was a pretty good week :)

Monday, everyone was off work for the holiday. Addie and I played with Kacey while the boys worked on "Biff" (aka the big ole suburban they inherited for free to haul giant TVs in)

We grabbed some lunch, then hit up Zurchers to get some invites for Jed's birthday party (yes, I'm an awesome wife who gets kid invites for her almost-30 husband)

Addie and Kacey tried some accessories on while there, I think it suited them nicely.
After the guys were done, we went swimming at our place then we all pounded some Big Bens from the burger bar. Good day off I think :) It was nice and chill after such a busy weekend.

Tuesday, Addie and I swung on up to Rock Spring to see Ashley and Ian
She's discovered she loves to climb! Just like her daddy...

Addie had a manicure, pedicure, silly hat time, went shopping and to Toy Story 3 again among other things. There's always a "Sleeping Beauty" pajama party with aunt Ashy too, including popcorn and skittles.

Thanks for letting us come up and play guys! Always a fun time.

Whitney and I got crafty after finding this adorable fabric the week before. I found it last week and immediately thought that it would be darling as a skirt. Whit has sewing skills and I don't really, or a machine. So she sewed a super cute skirt together for Addie. Thanks Whit!

Whooo can think of a cuter fabric? ;)
Best part? This remnant was only $2.36. We had enough for the skirt, a hair bow and still have a bit left! Love great deals.
My friend Laura showed me how to make this hair bow. Isn't it cute? Pretty simple too....just need a sewing machine. Glad I have peeps who help me do crafty stuff!
I did manage to iron on this applique by myself though. Lol, man I rock.

Addie admiring her outfit I'd admire it too. Hey, including the shirt it cost 5 bucks.

Great-aunt Teri tried to teach Addie to catch a ball on Saturday. Needless to say....she's totally my daughter. She's surprised as to why just keeping her hands there didn't make her catch it. She did catch it once though! Hey, never know I guess. She could be totally athletic someday...

The best part of our week? Our friends, Jared, Amanda and Max, were able to bring home sweet baby Connor! Their story can be read here. Let's just say, adoption is a miracle and about love!

We got to go see him last night and witness his cuteness first handDon't you LOVE all his gorgeous dark hair??
Welcome Baby Connor! You're one blessed little guy to have such an awesome family!

The 4th (well 3rd) of July!

We had big plans this weekend for the fourth and boy did it deliver!

Addie all ready and excited for the parade

Cherry Days Parade

Addie remembered from last weekend's parade that daddy's pockets make a great place to stash the goodies. I offered my pocket once so she wouldn't have to walk back to where Jed was, but she stuck with her system. Funny girl.
Oh how I heart cotton candy...Addie straight up rejected it.

Whit and Tristan (aka the babe) with Addie and Me

BBQ Swim Party
We enjoyed some delicious food with my family. Two of Addie's favorite things- ketchup and cupcakes!! (not together of course)

Swimming with the kids was so fun!

Gotta love it!

Cute, chubby Evan

Deacon was suspicious of the cupcakes. Don't worry, we converted him.

We sang happy birthday to Beckam....and Derek, Terry and Jed since theirs are all this month.
Darling baby Nixon

Fireworks Party
More food up at the Wellers!I made a batch of these for each party. The "K" on this one is for Kacey, her birthday was Friday. Lots of July birthdays in our families!
Tristan boy being so big!

Addie got the sparkler thing figured out this time....and wore Grammy Dawn's sweatshirt because it was a little chilly out.

Baby Evan's Blessing
We got to see this cute little guy be blessed today.

Of course we had delicious food afterwards (did I mention we ate a lot this weekend?)
Needless to say, after this weekend of fun, we ALL crashed. Addie made it about 2 mins from Terry and Melissa's in the car ride home and she was out.cold. Jed and I both crashed after we got home. Good thing we've got a day off tomorrow to recover! It was all well worth the exhaustion!
