summer 2010 wrap up

Well, September is almost here (YESSS!!) I could literally smell it in the air tonight.....and that means summer is coming to an end. I dumped my Blackberry photos the other day onto the computer, so I thought I'd share some of our summer fun pictures that I haven't posted yet as a final "This was our a taste of our Summer" post. At least what I caught on my phone and didn't already share.

Enjoy....

We've had lots of parties, bbq's, play dates, parks, pools, treats and fun! I LOVE summer, but I'm ready for fall. I really just love having 4 seasons (well winter could be half as long, but whatever). I'm looking forward to crisp fall air, making caramel apples and cinnamon rolls, playing outside without sweating immediately, Halloween, Thanksgiving...ahhh I just adore Autumn.

Peace out Summer 2010. Much love.

Addie's first bike, first time boating, and a birthday

Friday evening, Jed came home from work and announced we were going to Target after dinner. Of course Addie and I agreed because, um it's Target. He didn't mention that the purpose was that he had decided he needed to buy his baby girl her first bike. He picked it up off the shelf and asked Addie, "should we get this for you and take it home?" she replied with an "okay!"

wahoo a big girl bike!
She even wanted to help daddy put it together

Can you tell she was excited??
Trying it out.....
She's two and a half so the whole concept of pedaling was tricky. It'll definitely take some more practice, but she loved it. She kept repeating stuff she'd heard on Word World about learning to ride a bike. She'd say "Hands on handle bars.....check. Keep pedaling and look ahead" lol of course she really didn't DO any of those things....but it was very cute and funny.
Oh and daddy showed her how it was done. Hee hee...

If that wasn't enough fun, Saturday evening we went up to Pineview with Steve and Dawn to take the boat out and see the annual Yacht Club Boat Parade. Addie's face in this picture says it all....
She LOVED it

I mean come on, being on a boat makes all Wellers happy!
Addie giggling with Uncle Blake
Haha, a little windy up front!

Jed in his happy place

Speaking of happy place....Steve and Addie had a ball driving the boat together!
Oh, and when I say DRIVING the boat, I mean SHE drove the boat.

Seriously some of my favorite pictures of Addie and her Papa Steve. Just so dang happy.

Look how good looking my friend looks all chillin' in the moonlight on the boat.
Promise he didn't pose...I'm just that good ;)

Once it was dark out, the boat parade started. It was fun to see all of them all lit up

Not the best pictures since the light was bad. I love the one that looked like a pirate ship and one that was Titanic-esque. Addie thought the boats were so cool with all the lights on it. She had a blast!

Sunday evening, we went down to celebrate my Grandpa's 89th birthday
Love you Grandma and Grandpa!

So that wraps up our weekend. It was quite splendid if you ask me. I think more weekends should include having daddy around all day Saturday, included bagels at Old Grist Mill, a hair cut for me and a nap.  I love spending time with my little family....and extended family!

A sneak peek

Our darling and gracious friend Amanda took our family pictures a couple of weeks ago....here's a little sample of them. Can't wait to see the rest and I'll share them once I do! I love these ones because they're ones that Amanda shot when Addie wasn't "cooperating" or "posing". I love my sweet little girl and husband...aren't they cute? :)

Welcoming Emmett

Sunday evening we all got together at the Wellers to celebrate the arrival of this cute little bundle of joy

We had originally planned to have a family baby shower for Blake and Kacey, but when Emmett decided to arrive a few weeks early, he became the guest of honor! Kacey was such a trooper to still go ahead with the shower and allow her sweet newborn to be passed around to the family. We all adore him already! Thanks Blake and Kacey for sharing your little one!

I made a cake that matches the decor of his nursery :)

The cute new family
Kacey, Blake and baby Emmett

I made some little onesie cookies too

Emmett got lots of love and presents. I was sad that I was still sick so I couldn't hold him, but his other aunties and grandparents all got their Emmett cuddles in :)

Aunt Terra

I just adore this picture of Emmett's great grandparents (aka Gram and Gramp)
They sure love their great grand babies!

Finally, three days later.....I got my turn :)
He's so tiny and sweet. I could just eat him up!
I look a titch scary/dark circles-esque....but he's cute so whatever.

I'm really not on top of this

Man, I've been such a blog slacker. Not even keeping it to once a week. I keep thinking about stuff I should blog about does that count? I've just been unmotivated. So here's a bunch of random thoughts and pictures from the past week or two...I'll keep it brief since last time I blogged I ended up doing three posts in one day.

I'm going to go out of order, because the first order of business is the BEST and CUTEST for sure

Steven Emmett Weller

Emmett surprised his mommy and daddy by arriving 3 weeks early on Tuesday August 10, 2010

He weighs in at a sweet and tiny 5 lbs 8 oz and has about the cutest blonde fuzzy hair I've ever seen. Oh I just want to squeeze this little guy! Sad part? Oh um I haven't been able to because me and Addie are sick. BOO to sickness. We're so happy that he's healthy and here and has made two very proud parents! Congrats Blake and Kacey- love your cute family!!

So let's see...in other news we've had a few dogs here this week. We had Steve and Dawn dog while they're out of town and then when Kacey went into labor we got a couple more visitors. Here are the 3 boys all trying to sit on or around my lap :) Addie has thought having them here has been quite entertaining. She loves to hold their leashes and take them out.

Addie mimicking Willey's couch position. Weirdo

Some other random stuff:

*We got family pictures taken on Monday night, so I'll be posting them in a couple weeks when I get them back.

*I discovered for myself the one Coke machine to rule them all at the Noodles & Co in Sugarhouse (thanks Cassi for the tip!!) 160 Flavor options baby! Oh Yeah!

* I attended a SYTYCD party. It was really more of a So you think you can talk/eat/watch the show at the same time party ;) It was fun to have a girls night and I'm always up for some good food and desserts like these:

This isn't even half the food. I like that I have foodie friends.
Yes, I know I could have taken pictures of my actual friends, but ah well.

*We got to see cute baby Brightyn and her mama Janiel! They were in town for Janiel's brother's wedding so we not only saw them at the wedding reception, but had our own swim day at my mom's house with them. It was fun to catch up and play with them. Thanks Janiel!

That's about it for now! Hope you're all enjoying the end of summer. We're still needing to get a camping trip in...hmm...maybe Labor Day.
