Why my husband is the best one

Well, there are lots of reasons, but this groups of emails shows his awesome dedication to making sure he made my birthday special. Obviously I didn't receive these emails, but I made sure to get my hands on them after I was told repeatedly about them at my surprise party last night.Yes, that's right. In case you missed the schmoopy facebook post, Jed threw me an amazing party, with the help of some other people who I love to pieces. So, I had to share these entertaining messages :) Hope he doesn't mind! I took snippets, but there are even more than these...he's THE BEST.

INITIAL EMAIL:
Y'all all may or may not know the our friend, daughter, cousin, niece, or only in may case (I think), Wife is turning 30 next week.. The fact is, that we have never done an honest to goodness birthday party for her during the whole 10 years we have been married, so I want to do this one right...THIS IS A SURPRISE PARTY. This party will happen on Friday, October 12 at Marilyn and Danny's house 4902 Burch Creek Hollow Ogden, UT 84403-4131. I want this party to contain all of her favorite things, Friends, Family, Food, Kids, Food, Me, Talking, Food, Talking, Food, and Food.. The first shot I need from everyone that reads this this email is who is planning on attending . THIS IS A SURPRISE PARTY. Those that respond with "I will be attending and will be bringing x number of people will receive a follow up email with your food assignment.. I want to do soups and treats, so we will work that out once I get a final count.. I realize that many of you have abandoned us and are living outside of striking distance for this event.. She still loves you (albeit a bit less, what with the abandoning and all :) ) For you guys, the consolation prize will be the option to attend, at least for the "SURPRISE!!!!" through a web cam, We'll use a GOOGLE+ (yes, I think that is still a thing) hangout session and broadcast the feed onto a very large screen..

Here is the rundown of stuff I need y'all to do ASAP

1. Let me know if you are coming and how many humans(including tiny humans) will be in your entourage. I will cut off the RSVP and make food assignments on Wednesday 10/9.
2. Get me your webcam/ipad/mobile phone clip by Monday 10/8.. I would encourage everyone to do this in a very well lit room. A sunlit room is very best, and outdoors in relative shade works great too.. failure to do this tends to produce a dark and grainy image that is not suitable for wising your favorite friend a Happy Birthday!

Jed (soon to be with your help "BEST HUSBAND EVER"

FOLLOW UP:
(this was his reply when Ashley sent him an idea from my pinterest board for a party theme. I giggled)

"oh my good grab!!! I love it."
and some pestering my loved ones....

I guess there is some confusion on the video clips I asked for.. I would ideally like one from everybody on this list, not just those who live out range or who cannot attend.. if you can, please get me those as quickly as possible.. Again, just use your smartphone/tablet. Just be sure there is plenty of light..

Thanks again for helping me make this special for her.

FINAL EMAIL:
We're in the final stages here, so I thought I would lay down some final instructions for everyone to follow so we can try and avoid the usual "Surprise!!!" pitfalls.. Let's face it, nobody wants to be "those people" :)
1. please try and park on the street and down the street from Marilyn's house and stay withing the marked "red zone" on the map below

2. If you are unsure of how to get to the house, please study this map beforehand, so your arrival time is not buttonhooked because you had to navigate the depths of Birch Creek without a guide. It can be tricky.

3. Jenny, the Kids, and I will be arriving at or about. 6:30, so it is important that you give yourself plenty of time to park, transport your goodies and or tiny humans into the basement, and have Ashley help you with where to put your food assignment. Ashley is running the ground game on this one, so she's gonna be a little wired, but don't be afraid/offended.. I've put a moratorium on the severing of pinkies (for this night anyway), so she's harmless..

4. Please respond to this email with a "good to go" if you are indeed good to go with your previously committed attendance and assignment..

Thanks!!! This is going to be off the chizza!!......It better be, or my butt is grizza!

(And YES, he really did include a map of these so called "red zone")

Isn't he awesome?! I kinda wanna throw him a "you're the best husband and party thrower ever, party" :) I love that he signed the first email, soon to be best husband ever...truth is, he already was. He knows me so well and knows how important my family and friends are to me. He knew sharing my birthday with these people would make it special, and IT DID. I'll post pictures and such of the party, but I just wanted to let the world and Jed know how much I love and appreciate what he did. It could have been a box of pizza and carton of ice cream at this party and I still would have loved that he made an effort to do it for me, but wait til you see what he/my peeps did. THEY ROCK!!! Love ya'll!

PS- This guy not only stalked my pinterest boards. He even made a trip to hobby lobby alone!! That's love and dedication right there.

It's that time...

It's that time of year...the time that I say to myself, I'd better get some pictures of this cute family of mine before it gets too cold! I was going to skip it, but I knew my mom would want a recent one for our family calendar, plus Christmas cards...
So, our neighbor did a quick mini photo session with us last night. It became very short, because Dalton only lasted 5 minutes and then he was completely done cooperating. Turns out this morning, he has pink eye. Poor kid, no wonder he was so miserable. Thankfully, she captured some of his cuteness at the start.

I love them!

I can't believe how much they've both grown since last year....

I think she'd pose and smile for someone else all day...

The picture on my header perfectly captures the reality of trying to take pictures when a toddler is involved. Makes me laugh and cringe at the same time lol.

PS, Dad, don't right click on these and print them. I promise I'll print you real ones...you know you were gonna :)

Wake me up when September...oh wait, it's over?

Well another month has come and gone and I kinda still am not doing so great with blogging. Remember how I said I'll blog July sometime? Sorry, just join instagram or facebook okay :)

Brigham City Temple open house adventure, Take 1.
Cute cousins playing with Ashley waiting for the bus...we had no idea what we were in for.
Somehow, inexplicably, we went on the most crowded day and time and what we'd planned to take an hour total, took like 3. Needless to say, between it being past Dalton's lunch and nap time BEFORE we even got in, Dalton and I DIDN'T get to go in. He was done. I was sad. Let's not relive it again...

This girl, however, was sooo excited and was an angel.
When I had to bail seconds before walking into the temple, she just took Ash's hand and went through with her and Kacey. She did great. I was very sad to not watch her see it all, but grateful she had aunties to go with so she didn't miss out.

 Preschool started!

And I attempted to make Bakerella's pencil push pops...it was kind of a fail, but whatever, kids don't care right? That's what I'm saying..

Addie ADORES her teacher.

I can't believe how much bigger she looks here than her first day as a 3 year old.
She loves school and I'm so glad. I've never had to fight her to go, ever!

Dalton and I went to the park and played on her first day. I felt guilty taking his favorite friend away.

She wanted to pose again the following day. She made me braid her hair the night before to sleep on them so her hair would be curly for preschool. Such a girl!

Mmm....fig prosciutto arugula pizza....I don't even know why that's on here, but it is and it's delicious.

In, non good food news, I took Addie to McDonald's for a happy meal after the first week of preschool was over. I was so proud of what a big girl she'd been.

 Holy masses of cupcakes...

I baked and packaged like 90 cupcakes for a boutique. Then vowed to never do it again :)

Peach Days
This was the view behind me at the parade. Not too shabby eh??

I took the kids because I felt guilty for neglecting them for two days straight while baking :)

My phone died right when we walked down to the carnival, so I couldn't take any pictures of the kids doing rides and such. Lame. It was fun though! Addie wanted a treat, and I rejected spending $5 for cotton candy, so we went to idle isle for chocolates instead. She didn't argue there.

Temple open house, Take 2. Sans kids. Perfection.
Thanks for coming with me Whit!

Dalton, in his jammies, on his sister's bike. He found it hilariously awesome.

Oh, and I attended a SYTYCD party. I brought gooey butter cake.

Last swim evening of the summer at Grammy's house
Dalton prefers to just roll stuff around the patio...and tries to make them roll into the pool

This girl is a fish and would swim til this pool froze all the way through! She cried when I told her fall was starting. Sad...I love her love of summer.

That swim was followed by a bath in Grammy's big tub. I wanted to boot them out and take it over.

Preschool Field Trip  to Carver's Cove
Somehow I didn't know this place existed, and I drove by it daily when I lived in Eden.
It was a lot of fun for the kids!

Dalton LOVED riding the tractors!

Addie and some preschool friends

Had some skype time with Lori and Reagan. Reagan is showing Addie her new watch. They were funny.
Last week, Addie told my mom randomly, "Grammy, did you know that Reagan lives so far that it's on the other side of this country?? And you have to take a plane there. And even if you do, you still wouldn't be there before dinner time...and guess what? It's already lunch time at her house! Isn't that crazy?!" Lori, you'll laugh because this conversation probably sounds familiar :)

Tristan's 3rd Birthday. Batman style.
I made some cake pops, even though I've previously sworn them off.

Kacey made a cute cake!

We partied at Ashley's hotel, which was awesome. If you ever want to know how to entertain kids indoors, just get a half ballroom, some balloons, and let them go nuts. It helps if you've got a papa willing to give horse rides.

We love our buddy Tristan!

 Some preschool party treats
Thanks, our best bites. These were so easy and cute!

 Some City Creek-ing

 Some duck feeding with grandpa

That about wraps up our September...onto October, one of my favorite months of the year!
