Happy Easter!

Hope you all have a fun Easter weekend....I snapped a few shots of Addie in her Easter dress a couple of weeks ago. I hoped to get some better ones outside once it got warmer, um but then it never did. Or if it did I was hospitalized during this time. Thanks everyone who's been checking in on us this week. Addie is feeling quite a bit better today and I'm getting there. Hoping to be feeling well enough to hunt for eggs this weekend!

Home and some highlights

Well, hip hip hooray- I got to go HOME today!! I was SOOOO happy when the doctor came in my room and said, "well, we're gonna kick you out of this place"

My pain has gone way down since yesterday and my white blood cell count was normal this morning. Basically, that antibiotics were working. They were concerned that I had a mild fever, until I reminded them that I had a child at home who shared that same mild fever and the same cough I have. Still not sure what caused the abscess. The OB/GYN said it may have been that a cyst ruptured that contained blood, not just fluid or just something random. Go figure.

I was just so happy I was being sent home and the problem was resolved I didn't really care too much about what caused something that random. It isn't anything I could prevent if I wanted to anyway.

I just had ONE thing on my mind (okay, two if you count my tempeurpedic bed and three if you count REAL food)
Addie Cuddles!! (Sorry, BB self-pic) I swear if one thing made my pain go from mild to next to nothing it was this sweet little girl. I missed her like crazy! Sad to say, Jed and I have never left Addie for more than 30 hours at the most....so 2 1/2 days was so not cool for me. I felt so bad that she was sick and didn't have her mommy to give her loves and cuddles. It was pure bliss to cuddle the rest of the evening with her and Jed and watch princess movies together. Oh I adore my little family.

So, although the whole hospital experience wasn't the best weekend of my life (see prior post) there were a couple of highlights I thought I'd share.

Oh our way to see the doctor on Friday, before the ER, Jed's dad called asking for the words to the songs Addie likes sung before naptime. The relay wasn't going too well, so Steve just put the phone up to Addie's ear while Jed sang (perfectly I may add) the entire "Aurora song" as Addie calls it :) seriously one of the cutest things I've ever witnessed.

While being wheeled down the hallway on the gurney to go to get my CT scan I started feeling really nauseous. The EMT handed me a bag and said "If you're gonna spew, spew in this" in a 'Wayne's World' voice. Nice. Made me giggle. Jed always says lines from that movie

The final highlight- FOOD. Yes my friends, I was finally able to have something other than broth and jello (gag). All weekend all I really wanted was crackers or something to settle my stomach, but my doctor wouldn't let me just in case I needed surgery. Much to his dismay, I never did ;) I know I probably just watch way too much "Grey's Anatomy" but I know he really did want to cut. He IS a surgeon after all.

I ate saltines on the way home. Then Jed made me just some buttered toast when we got home and it seriously tasted SO good. THEN, the dear Amanda brought over Shepard's Pie, rolls, salad and ginger snaps for dinner. SAINTS. BE. PRAISED. There's something so comforting about warm carby food in my tummy.

I'm a happy woman tonight. I'm so blessed to have wonderful family and friends who have offered love, support and prayers. Thank you all!

5 things you don't like to hear in the hospital....

All things I've heard in the past 36 hours that I'd wish doctors hadn't told me....

"Oh, I was digging for a vein, but I guess that was a nerve or a tendon"
Ya think?!

"I don't really know what that is"as she pointed to a spot on the ultrasound.
Grrreat....

"NPO" aka nothing by mouth...no food, no drink, no water
Are you people even remotely aware how much I enjoy food?!

"Well...the CT scan was kinda ambiguous, so we don't really know what's wrong"

"I'd like to keep you here overnight and do all the tests we did today tomorrow."
You're friggin kidding me right?

It's been quite the roller coaster ride here....I kind of feel like I'm on an episode of "House"...you know, where someone comes in with symptoms of Appendicitis, but it's never Appendicitis on "House" that's just not interesting enough.

Thursday night I had familiar pains of an Ovarian Cyst rupturing....you know, where your lower abdomen feels like knifes and you can't get out of the fetal position all evening and night? I was really annoyed because I'm on the pill so that I DON'T get cysts. Blerg.

So...all night that night and the next morning the pain got worse, not better, like usual. It began to radiate to my entire abdomen and it hurt even to the touch. So I went into see a midwife and she did an Ultrasound so check things out. She couldn't see a cyst, as expected, since once they rupture there's usually just fluid in the pelvic cavity. She was very concerned with my pain level and felt it was Appendicitis. So she sent me to the ER. Holy not fun.

Can I just say that ER care sucks compared to all other health care I've ever experienced? They performed a CT scan and came back not really knowing anything (insert annoyed sigh here).

They threw around the option of Diverticulitis and Appendicitis, but both those options didn't show on the scan as very possible. They saw a 3cm avoid, or oval shaped pocket thing right near my colon and uterus. The avoid is an abscess, generally caused by infection....how it got there? Not a clue.

So, I've been being treated with IV antibiotics and pain meds, but I have to sit here till tomorrow and repeat an ultrasound to see if the abscess is gone. If so, yippee, I'm out. If it is still there, and encapsulated itself, they'll drain it with a very large needle (sounds fun eh?)

So here's hoping that the meds all work and in the morning I'm abscess free and more pain free so I can go home. This whole hospital thing is lame.

That about sums up my weekend thus far. Oh and Addie is thankfully at my in-laws having fun. That is a huge stress relief. Oh, and she's sick with the croup. Yep, that's right....sharp rocks at the bottom? Bring it on.

If you come over to our house....

You will be immediately escorted by a very excited two-year-old to her room to see her new BIG GIRL BED! I completely underestimated how exciting taking the front of the crib off would be.

So every person (and animal) that's been to our house since Saturday has been obligated to see it, oh and be excited about it. She also tells every person she talks to about her "big girl bed" even if they're strangers and could really care less :)

I was obviously very afraid to put her in a bed in which she could escape from. My mom kept telling me to not expect her to stay in it or fall asleep/stay asleep very well. Well, thankfully, this time, grandma was wrong. I even sent her a pic I snapped of my monitor to prove it. Yes, my child is still under surveillance....I KNOW she's two....and no I don't have my monitor on most of the time, but we still check in on her and I love seeing her sleeping in her bed. Bliss I tell you.
The only time she doesn't stay in bed is right when we lay her down. She'll sometimes get up and say she's got to go potty and such, but she used that stall tactic before so that's nothing new.

In other news....I've found another awesome way to entertain my kid AND have some good ole fashioned butt kickin' work out time. Bless you Gold's Gym for having the sweetest set up. Ever.
Addie did really well playing in there with the other kids and made a little Easter picture to bring home. As for me, I can barely move without the pain of sore muscles. Win-win. I figure it's a great pre preschool thing for her to interact with kids without me (since I'm in nursery with her at church).

So there you have it....random post I know. Big girl bed, the kid actually sleeps in it and I'm hoping to look decent in a swimsuit this summer. Here's to Spring!

Ashley and Ian's Wedding

It was such a beautiful day....beginning to end. I'd recap with words, but I think pictures tell a much better story. Ash and Ian we couldn't be happier for you- love you!

Ashley & Ian- Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day! A special thanks to Niki & Brian for watching Addie during the ceremony- such a life saver!

Grandpa & Babies

We had quite the week and weekend last week! Lots of visitors and a whole lot of fun too! My brother Jason came into town and it was good to see him and his cute kids. Ashley also came in for a work training and then we helped her move some furniture back up to Wyoming on Friday. It was a late night, but so fun to see Ash and Ian's place there. So excited for their wedding next week! Saturday was busy- I showed a house, baked, hung out with family, then went and had a girl's night out (well technically it was in)

Great Grandpa Perry came to town
Addie had never met him before, so it was fun to see him. We had a little get together at my mom's house with the family to visit. It was great to see you- love you grandpa!

Then this sweet baby girl came to town
Isn't baby Brightyn so dang cute! She looked beautiful on Sunday at her blessing.

My mom and I love Janiel and we were so excited to meet her baby and spend some time catching up.

Then this sweet baby boy arrived yesterday!
Evan Ross was born March 9th and weighed 7 lbs 5oz. So sweet!

I loved getting to hold him. He slept the whole time and I got some great newborn cuddles
Congrats Terry and Melissa!

Sweet singer

Addie is starting to sing more and more. I just love hearing her little voice. It's so cute. She sings so quiet and won't usually perform or do it when we ask her to. Usually it's when she's in her own little world. I love it.

I haven't been able to get it on video yet because she just starts singing and by the time I think about recording she's done. So yay- thanks to my trusty BB I was able to take a couple of short ones this morning and yesterday while I was getting her ready for church. Enjoy!

"Sunbeam" (aka Sunbeep!)
Apparently performing is tiring ;)

"Child of God" this one is SO quiet...I caught her starting to sing on her window seat and started to record.
like how she tells herself "good job!" in the middle? Ha, I do.

"Twinkle Twinkle little star" Only caught the last half of this performance. It's amazing what putting on a pretty dress does for a girl! She was twirling and singing all morning :) she kept saying "I'm going to sing dreams come true, like Cinderella" then would twirl and sing.

Oh I LOVE her.
