Summer found!

Wahoo Summer is FINALLY here!!! Yesterday was Founder's Day in Pleasant View and we had a FULL day of playing! I always feel like Founder's Day officially starts all the summer fun. I was excited that Addie was big enough to enjoy it this year.

We started the day with the parade. Papa Steve and Whitney came with us which was fun! We also saw Niki and Brian and their cute little family there, along with all of Papa Steve's peeps. (that's Whit in the picture, not me.....no I'm not 7 months pregnant Haha!)
What is that face exactly? Haha, I'm not positive, but it was something about saying "more" when she already had 3 sweettarts in her mouth. My kid discovered that the stuff the random people in cars were throwing, was indeed CANDY. She didn't really get into running for it yet, but by next week's parade I'm sure she will.
Chillin' with auntie Whitty at the parade. She actually SAT on her lap for like 10 minutes or more. This is not normal. She is usually so wiggly and busy that she never sits still. I guess she was entertained. Oh, and Whit had candy ;)

Weeeee!!! There were a few inflatable slides and bouncy toys at the parade. I only trekked up that thing once with her, but it was fun!!
(SO steep when you're carrying 24 lbs on your hip and trying to climb up that ladder)

After nap time, we headed to Beckam's birthday party, then to our friend's house for another birthday bash for my friend and co-worker. I knew we couldn't stay long because bedtime was coming soon, but Addie discovered THIS in their backyard
You try telling a kid no to that ;) Who am I kidding, if I had my swimming suit and wasn't the only adult willing, I would have SO been playing on that thing!
She LOVED it! She could play in that alllll day if we had one. It is awesome!

Check out this little dare devil! Head first!
We played for a bit, but then it really was bedtime. We put Addie down to bed at Steve and Dawn's and then Jed and I continued the good times sans kid. (which was so nice!) We roasted hot dogs and s'mores and watched the fireworks from their yard. Great way to end a fun-filled day!! Can't wait to do it again next weekend :)

Happy 1st Birthday Beckam!

Friday was my nephew, Beckam's first birthday. We had a little party yesterday for him....oh I LOVE first birthdays. So much fun! Isn't he SOOOO adorable?! I could eat him up!!
(I settled for one of the GIANT cupcakes Tammy served)
Mmmm...Cupcakes..... well actually he only ate the frosting- nothing wrong with that!

The "after" picture. Hey, not too bad!

Cute little cousins all chillin' on the back steps. Deacon will be the next first birthday in a few months! Crazy how time flies! 18 months ago, none of these babies were even here!!

Deacon with grandpa Rees- I had to include this. How sweet is he looking up at his grandpa?!

Fathers, friends and farewells

First off, I want to give a shout out to all the dads in my life and let them know how much me and my little family love and appreciate you all. Jed and I feel so blessed that Addie has so much love around her. She's spoiled by all her grandparents and she loves it! Thanks Dad, Steve and Danny for everything!

Jed, thank you for being the best daddy to our sweet Addison. She loves you so much and I LOVE that I see you in her every day. I am SO grateful that she has a wonderful father as an example in her life.

*****
Father's Day weekend has been a whirlwind for us. We started with lunch yesterday with my Dad and step mom at Five Guys Burgers. It was really yummy and almost made up for the fact that our whole afternoon plans of going to Red Butte Gardens to picnic were foiled. Stupid rain, grumble grumble....

Addie discovered FRY SAUCE. Yup. Needless to say she LOVES it!
(Still not sure why a straw ended up being her utensil of choice to eat it, but whatev)

We continued on the culinary train right on to dinner with Jed's parents last night and also ended up eating with my parents when we all ended up at the same place. Hey, great minds think alike. Sorry, I wasn't good at taking pictures of Addie with all her grandparents this weekend.
Today, Jed got to relax and watch dude shows on TV while eating bacon and orange rolls so he was a happy man :) We were able to visit with Jed's parents last night and see mine today and also stopped at Jed's Gram and Gramp's house.

Tonight, we had the final pleasure of having our friends Van and Lori and their girls over for one last dinner and hang out night before they move. Addie and Reagan play SO cute together! Look how cute they are......they have NO idea that tonight was their last time to play for a long time....
We had some seriously yummy food too, but I totally spaced taking any pictures. So you'll have to imagine Jed's specialty "Argentine flank steak" and my homemade Asphalt Pie that rocked.

Me and Lori trying to pretend we're happy
(okay well we were happy to be hanging out, but not about saying goodbye....well see you later as we called it)

Addie and Reagan giving each other hugs before bedtime.....
Bye friends! We'll miss you all!

Seriously?

Am I really destined to only have one friend live in Utah at a time or something???

Seriously? It's pretty messed up really.

Okay, technically I have other friends. I do realize this. But, I have very few that I actually get together with on a regular basis and hang out or have play dates together.

See these cute friends?

YAY!!! They're back from Arizona for A WHOLE YEAR! I'm SOOOOO excited that my cute friend Niki and her family just moved back here after 3 years of being away at Med school. Brian is doing his 4th year rotations here, so they're here till next June! I'm looking forward to regular play dates for Addie and Lizzie and baby Charlie ( even more for Niki and I) I still see that year mark up ahead looming though......but we're not going to talk about it!

Okay, now see these cute friends??

This is my friend Lori and one of her darling girls, Reagan (who happens to be BFF with Addie)

They're MOVING away....FAR away! Atlanta, Georgia to be precise. Yaaah, so not a quick & cheap flight or road trip distance away. FAR.

I'm SO sad. Addie and Reagan play so cute together. That's always a HUGE bonus as a mom when your kids can be friends too. We could hang out and let the girls play. Win-win. Sadly, this party comes to an abrupt halt come Monday. I was in denial until tonight when I went up to help Lori with a little bit of loading up their cars with stuff to be moved. It hit me as I drove up the canyon. Crap, my friend is moving! (I know, I've known for months....but I've been not thinking about it).

Good luck Van and Lori on your new adventure!! You'll do awesome! I'm sure that you'll find friends almost as cool as the ones here. Please come back someday!

So I guess I either need to make more friends so it isn't such a tragedy when one moves away, OR I need to only make friends with people who are done with any schooling they'd like to do so there's no chance of them going away for a 3-4 year period and then some. Dang me for having such ambitious friends!

I'm open to suggestions, sympathy or peeps willing to be my friend :) LOL

Recent Stuff

I've been a bit behind on my blogging, which seems random since it's been raining for 2 weeks. We've been trying to stay entertained indoors, much to Addie's dismay. She has learned to say "rainy" or "raining" and sadly says it almost every day (even when it isn't) whenever she looks out the windows.

Some good news- I acquired a freaking awesome new Blackberry, the 8900. It rules. I'm not going to lie, I'm a phone snob, and I LOVE IT!!! All of the footage you see in this post is brought to you by my new toy :)

So, here are a few things that have been happening in our little world---

EXPLOITATION of My OCD/Color coordinating issues......Jed thought he was hilarious. I really almost screamed when I opened the cabinet. You may or may not recall that I have a subconscious habit *problem* of matching Addie's sippy cups to her outfits......Yes, yes I know......

SWINGING (aka proof it was sunny for a few minutes)

TRACTOR DRIVING

DRIVING/POWERSLIDING- Daddy took things up a notch. He put the floorboard in her car so her feet wouldn't touch the ground and proceeded to run as fast as he could down the street with her over and over, powesliding and making sharp turns. Addie LOVED it......mommy? Well she was a little scared, but quite amused as well.

Hey, looking at this post, it looks like we've actually had good weather lately. This in no way is an accurate representation of the average weather and precipitation for the past two weeks. I'm sending sunshine vibes out, so let's hope that the forcast is correct and it'll come back this weekend.

Yah, yah

Gotta have sound on.....

Addie has always jammed to this song since she was pretty little. Hilarious to hear her actually try and sing some of the words. Even if it is just "Yah...yah". I died laughing the first time she did this. This isn't the best "version" of her performance, but the only one on video.
