I heart cupcakes...

I enjoy cupcakes a great deal. Who doesn't? I mean really, even Jed can appreciate a cupcake from time to time and he doesn't like cake. They're so versatile and can be dressed up for any occasion....for instance:

Panda Bear Cupcakes
How cute is this little guy? I mean really, how could one resist a parade of pandas? Especially ones that taste as yummy as they look (can't ever go wrong with oreos)
Addie and I went over to Niki's on Friday so that I could help her make these fun treats while the girlies all played. I thought they turned out very cute :) Granted, they never come out as perfect as they do in the Hello Cupcake cookbook, but who really cares?

Cupcake Ensemble
When I saw this fabric, I HAD to buy it so that I (meaning my mom) could make Addie a dress out of it. I mean, come on, cupcakes all over it! Too fun to pass up, no?

Of course if you make a cupcake dress you HAVE to make matching cupcake hair bows!
At least I actually made the bows myself :)

This cute little cupcake turned 1!
Saturday, we partied with Charlie and partook of some the cupcakes we made the day before. She's such a cutie pie.

I sure love these cuties....funny Addie and Lizzie are the same space in age as Addie and Charlie. My lucky little girl gets two little friends in one household. We'll sure miss them when they move this summer! Thanks for letting us play Snows, we loved it.

Spring is here, spring is HERE!

Spring has finally sprung! It has breathed a seriously happy and giddy breath of fresh air into our house. Addie is LOVING being able to run around outside and I thoroughly enjoy this weather. I really love this whole 70 degrees thing. LOVE. IT.

So here's what our week was full of:

Road trip to see Ashley & Ian
You can tell Addie gets a titch excited whenever we get to see her auntie Ashy. Dawn and I made the trip up on Tuesday evening and then we played all day Wednesday and came home that night. We miss Ash and loved spending time with her in her new place. Thanks guys for letting us enter your newlywed bubble and stay with you :)

Park-in' it up
Thursday was gorgeous so Whit and I decided to take the kiddos to the park. Oh how my kid loves the park. Just being outside and running around makes her so happy, and in turn me happy. Tristan like being outside and even got to have his turn on the slide with his mommy!

Um, so when did my kid get THIS big?? Not 6 months ago when we went to the park in the fall it seems like she could barely go up all the steps by herself....Now?

She found this set of steps that were the furthest apart from each other and conquered it. It was funny how concentrated she was. She was skipping the steps on the other set of stairs to get up them quickly so she could get to the slides. Oh I like her.

BABY GOATS!
Today we got to go with my mom, brothers and niece and nephew to a place nearby with lots of baby goats. They were sooo cute, I kind of wanted to take one home. I was surprised that Addie wasn't nervous around them. She had SO much fun there.

Addie: The horse and chicken whisperer....
Addie cracked me up. She kept talking to all the animals as if they could understand her. She went over to the chicken "Hi chicken! Hey chicken, come talk to me. Do you say 'bac bac bac' chicken? Oh chicken, you're silly chicken".......then went to the fence and yelled to the horse "Hi horse!! Come over here horse! Come talk to me horse and shake a paw!" (Willey, my in-laws' dog, shakes your hand with his paw)

Addie: the goat, chicken and goose chaser
"Goats, goats, goats! Come back here baby goats!" haha, ahhh poor animals were probably quite frightened. "Oh chickens...I'm gonna chase you chickens!"....."Oh gooooose! Goose, goose, goosey....don't run away goose" Um, pretty sure most animals would do the same if they saw her coming.

Baby Baby Goats....oh so dang cute. These ones were even younger and smaller and still in a pen with their mamas. I got to hold one and really did want to steal it.
Oh and if you do want a goat for real, you can buy one from these super sweet and nice people; let me know I'll get you their info.

After seeing all the animals, we headed over to the park for a picnic and some more fun in the sunshine.
My mom, aunt Sharon and Tam flew some cool kites while the kids played on the playground.

SWINGS!
I think that Addie could live on a swing. She didn't get off that thing for a half hour, and of course that was because I had to finally make her so we could leave.

Uncle Chad has some sweet skills...

After Addie crashed for awhile, we went back out to play! This day sure wasn't ending without its fair share of fun-filled adventures. We headed out to see "How to train your dragon". It was the first time I've taken Addie to a movie and she did really well! She loved the popcorn and although the movie was a little scary for her in parts, she told me afterward "I liked that movie". I think she'd be more into one that's more animated and colorful though.
We'll definitely go again with daddy! He was sad he was working all day and missed out.

parents say the darndest things...

Some things I've heard myself say this week:

"Please don't lick that"

"We don't eat food out of the garbage can Costanza"

"That will hurt Snow White if you keep hitting her head against the wall"

"No, I don't think Pocahontas is poopy"

"We don't put pop tarts in people's boots"

"Let's not let the dog lick cookies we're eating okay"

Oh and Jed and I had the following conversation about our two year old:

Jed: where's Addie's blackberry?
Me: it's in her purse. The Louis Vitton one.

April (snow) Showers

Well, apparently spring has decided that it's only coming in 12-hour increments. I wasn't exactly thrilled about the snow, but I figured we may as well play in it. Addie got snow pants for her birthday and she hasn't even gotten to use them yet because we haven't had enough snow at once at our place to play in. Until now. When daddy came home from work, out we went!

Okay, now for real spring, you can come anytime. We're so ready.

Easter Sunday

We were all still a little bit sick on Easter, but don't worry we still partied it up. Addie didn't nap (had nothing to do with eating jelly beans at 8am I'm sure) so she was kind of grumpy. She had fun though and is still talking about it. We had Jed's parents over in the morning for brunch/conference. I made some cinnamon rolls and Jed whipped up some seriously awesome omelets. Addie likes when we have people here and can make them look at her room, bed, toys and the like. We went to a party at my mom's in the afternoon, then headed to another party at Jed's grandma's. There was plenty of family, food and fun to be had. Sadly, I ate very little...I was pretty sick. Lame antibiotics.

Addie found her Easter Basket
she totally has 4 jelly beans in her mouth (again, NO idea why she didn't nap)

I baked some stuff the day before Chick and bunny cake balls Rainbow Easter Cake And of course we hunted for some Eggs. Twice First at Grammy Rees's house....then after a 45 min power nap that Addie took in the car she was up for more at Great Grandma Margaret's Hope you all had a great Easter weekend!

This guy

See this guy...

Well, he pretty much rocks. Yes, he thinks it is necessary to ALWAYS check TV's for outputs....even when I'm in the hospital. You know, in case you want to plug in your PS3 and watch a Bluray or something. (oh and no, there weren't any outputs much to his dismay)

Other that making sure I was taken care of in the tech department, he's been the best friend this past week. I'm so grateful that I got myself a good one, the best one in fact.

Top 3 things I should write him a thank-you note for:

1- I was ready to freak last night from being quarantined all week with a sick kid while also being very sick. He "forced" me to go shoe shopping and get a Red Mango (which I've been craving all week) while he dealt with a very grumpy kid and put her to bed. I came home to find #2 on my list.

2- Completely clean house! He's been doing dishes, picking up toys and doing laundry ALL WEEK. Coming home last night and seeing the house in perfect order when I didn't leave it that way though- PRICELESS.

3- Meeting every need before I asked. Including but not limited to: bringing me a diet coke in the hospital once I was allowed liquids from my favorite diet coke source, making all the arrangements for Addie to be cared for while I was in the hospital, giving my baby girl a blessing when I was worried about her cough, and allowing me to watch really dumb chick shows with him in the room.

So, just in case you didn't know, I really love my husband and I'm thankful for all he does for me. That's all for today.
