7 Year Itch

Seven years ago today Jed and I were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple! I can't believe that much time has gone by. It's crazy how time flies.....it seems like yesterday was my wedding day and I still remember it vividly. At the same time, when I think of how much we've done and accomplished and changed since then, it seems SO long ago.

I've heard that people get a "7 year itch" in marriage and get bored or discontent or lose a little bit of a connection with their spouse. Well, I can definitely say that I am even happier and more in love NOW then I was that day!

So here are my top 7 reasons I love Jed, in no particular order (warning: some schmoopiness may occur)

1- He is an amazing father and makes Addie so happy. He always takes time to play with her and I love that she looks just like her daddy.

2- He has a great testimony of the gospel and honors his priesthood. I love knowing that I have that blessing in my home.

3- His laugh. If you don't know Jed very well, you probably haven't heard this laugh because he's kind of reserved. But when he lets out his real, loud, not-holding-back laugh it is hilarious. One of my favorite sounds.

4- His unbelievable work ethic. I've never met anyone who works harder and is more willing to do anything to take care of his family.

5- His sense of humor and ability to always make me laugh. I am a firm believer that laughter gets us through the hard times in life.

6- His level-headedness (word?). He helps make me calm and see things rationally. Sometimes, I want him to just let me be irrational and not try and talk sense into me, but at the end of the day, I'm so glad he does ;)

7- He still treats me like a princess and takes such good care of me. I think often, as women, we want to say we don't need to be taken care of. I'm so glad that he does and I'm definitely willing to let him! Short story for an example of this:

When I was pregnant with Addie, we went to the Clinton days parade because my father in law was in the parade as a former mayor. We had breakfast in the park that morning, but at this point I seriously had to have something in my stomach every 2 hours or I got sick. We had finished the breakfast and walked around and were waiting for the parade and I said to Jed, "Oh I'm so hot"..... he reached into a pocket of his cargo shorts and pulled out a bottle of water he'd stashed there prior to leaving our house. So thoughtful!
Then, not 5 minutes later I said, "Is it weird I'm already hungry again?".....he reached into his other pocket and pulled out a package of poptarts!! Not even kidding.....oh my cute sweet husband knows his wife so well and was making sure I was taken care of :) LOVE IT!

Thanks sweetie for always being there for me, for helping me through the hard times, laughing with me through the happy times, and being the best husband and father I could ever ask for! I love you forever!

A tale of an ice cream cone

I suggest clicking the photo if you'd actually like read my "play by play" :)

Happy 29th Birthday Jed!

Yay for birthdays! Addie always says "party" right after she says "birthday". Haha, she usually throws in "cupcake?" too. She gave her daddy lots of good birthday loves and kisses :)

One more year and my cute husband is going to be in his 3o's!!!

Addie and I took Jed to breakfast at Karen's Cafe on 25th street, then decided to walk around at the farmers market and also look at some of the painted horses (Addie's latest OBSESSION). They're all over downtown Ogden and each one is different. I had to take a picture of my FAVORITE horse! The Hershey's horse..... check him out!
And the back side....

We celebrated Jed's birthday that night by going to see Transformer's 2 (which I'm giving an enthusiastic Meh about) Then we went to dinner with Jed's brothers and wives.

Italic Jed acting super excited about his lettuce wraps.....even though he was still drying his tears over his favorite place L and L being closed before we could get there.

We had a very fun night out! We don't do that too often anymore, so it was a nice break. I love you the most Jed! Thanks so much for being my best friend and the greatest daddy to Addison!
Jed's grandma Margaret's birthday is right after his, so we saw her and some other family as well. Here are Addie and Eden having some girl chats with Grammy Dawn and Great Grandma Margaret. The chatting was mostly about Addie showing Eden she's 1 and then putting up a second finger because Eden is almost 2. It was some pretty deep convo ;)
I forgot to take a picture of the gift I made/gave Jed. I scanned (which I loathe doing) ALL of Jed's mission pictures, uploaded them into a Shutterfly book and had it printed for him. I think I got extra points for doing the scanning. I've always wanted to scrapbook them, but Jed wanted them scanned as backup if I was going to be cutting them up. So I think this was the best of both worlds. They're now all scanned and backed up AND I didn't have to do the actual scrapbook work. Seriously LOVE those books.

Meeting Mia

Jenny and Jerry (Jed's cousin and husband) surprised great grandpa Darrell last week at his birthday party with their sweet 8 week old baby girl, Mia.

We all knew they were coming into town for the weekend to bless her, but we all kept it a secret that they'd be at the party. Gramp was so thrilled to meet his second great granddaughter!
What a cutie pie!! She's so adorable- we were all ooooing and awwwing over her and it took a lot of will power for me to not steal her from any grandparents and great grandparents ;) I decided to bide my time since she'll be here with her mommy a few weeks.

Addie meeting her new cousin (well ish....2nd cousin? doesn't matter, we're saying cousin)
I know I'm so not cute in this picture- but Jenny and the girls are.

Great grandma Lynette getting to hold Mia

Sunday we all went up to Eden for the blessing at Grant and Tami's house. Mia was adorable and I finally got to hold her- yay! Jerry did a great job and we loved seeing the family again.

Me and the girls

Addie LOVES Grant's house because there's a horse, as well as a dog. She loves a party so 2 in one week- wahoo! She was a little wild but she had fun and loves all of the Weller clan.
Thanks for coming Cochrans- we sure love that baby girl already!

"Fives?"

I have to share this little story about what Addie said today. Jed is attending a conference for work untill Tuesday and since it is just in downtown Salt Lake, Addie and I joined him and stayed at his hotel last night. He had a 2 hour opening conference to go to this morning. I decided to take Addie over to walk around Temple Square and the Visitor's Center.

Addie recently started to recognize Jesus in pictures at church and at home and so it was cute to see her look at all the big paintings and say "Jesus". I walked her upstairs to the Christus statue and she was in awe. I asked her who He was, and she replied "Jesus".
Then she looked up at Him and His hands out and said "Fives?" Yes, my little child was asking if she could give Jesus fives. I told her probably not and giggled to myself. Oh I like her. She also said "Hold you?" and made the gesture with her hands that she does when she makes this request. Oh sweet girl.....I told her "someday sweetie".

Ready for the cuteness?

Here are our new family and Addie pictures we got done.....enjoy! Oh and any suggestions on which one I should print big of Addie for our wall would be much appreciated :) I can't decide!

Thanks again Amanda! We love them! I didn't include the ones I posted yesterday or added to the blog layout already- love those ones too!

Addison is 18 Months Old!

I swear it feels like she should be about 6 months old or something.....it is weird. I can't believe how she's transforming from a baby into a kid. It is bittersweet. But SO MUCH FUN! She's at a very fun age (sans the tantrums).

She stills loves social gatherings, charming strangers, and talking. talking. talking! It amazes me how much babies change from day to day and month to month. I keep thinking of her birthday and I am so amazed at how much she's changed since then. We sure love this little girl more than anything in the world!! Who wouldn't? Look at these eyes......
Some of my favorite things Addie says right now are

Hold You?

Luvvu (love you)

Cuddle

cancakes (pancakes), peta (pizza), burger.....fries? (she loves good food)

She has started to put two words together (or sounds a least) which is also fun. She also loves when we read books to her, and watching her "show" which is usually Baby Einstein or WordWorld. Oh, and she'll tell you which one she's requesting..... lol- this girl knows what she wants. (like running away during family pictures)

She adores her family and friends and loves to say all their names when she sees them in pictures. She's becoming a blogger already haha. Today I pulled up Lori's blog and she was so excited to look at pics of Jaylee, Reagan and Lori. She also looked and baby Charlie and Lizzie on Niki's blog. Then she looked at cousins Deacon and Beckam from my previous post :) she wanted to hold them all she said. Oh what a sweetie. LOVE this girl!

We got new family/Addie pictures taken by the lovely Amanda so I'll post some more soon. They're super cute, as you can see.

4th of July Fun!

PARADE

Addie loved the fire trucks, horses, giant dancing cups, and candy of course! She had fun hanging out with our parade peeps- Ashley, Ian, Whit, Chris, & Papa Steve all joined us for the fun. The weather was perfect since it was overcast too.

Addie and her papa

Our family at the parade

POOL PARTY
Addie loves the big floaty at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It's like a floating pool. She puts toys in it and floats around. So fun!

Cousin Deacon joined in the fun too- he LOVED it!

Addie playing with her daddy in the pool

Cousin Beckam deciding he was okay with water. It took him a little bit to warm up to the idea, but then he was happy and playing.

Deacon striking a pose once again....what a cutie

BBQ & FIREWORKS
Some of the crew hanging out waiting to eat. We had delicious pulled pork sandwiches, my snicker-apple salad, other yummy food and homemade blackberry ice cream for dessert! We didn't even same room for s'mores can you believe that?!

So the in the Weller family we do fireworks right. Kickin' sound system. Awesome view of WHS stadium's fireworks. Can't get any better can it? Oh, wait, my kid sleeping like a baby upstairs while we party....yes, yes indeed it rocked.

Jed on sound duty. He has his iPod hooked up to the sound system blasting the
"1812 Overture" for the finale.

Ooooooh, Ahhhhh...... yay pretty!

My father-in-law even has this sweet light up flag!
God Bless the USA!! Hope you all had a great Independence Day!

My little parrot

If you ever commit a crime, I'd advise never telling Addie about it. Not only does this little girl repeat almost EVERY word she hears these days- she remembers things! And remembers for a looong time!!

So just a warning to you all- if you say a naughty word, or something you don't want anyone else to know in front of Addie, your secret won't be safe ;)

For nearly 2 weeks she's been randomly saying "Manda...pictures...monkey...ball" because our friend Amanda took our pictures and had a monkey and ball to entertain her with. Seriously. So for once in my life I'm being very careful what I say! Lol!
